Warning: Grad School May Be Hazardous To Your Health

So I was on the verge of illness throughout the last two weeks of the semester. I managed to hold it off for a period of time ... lots of Defense Vitamin C lozenges and Airborne. But alas, since the first week of December I have been sick and I still can't seem to kick it. There is something about that release of stress that always does it for me ... it's as if all my defenses run away and hide for awhile to lick their wounds. While I "caught up" on my sleep for about three days after the end of the semester, that didn't seem to help. As soon as I went back to work last week, my body felt like it had been in the Pit of Despair. I was able to pull through at work, putting in a full week and going to a few social gatherings. But it all caught up with me Sunday. While I felt pretty decent when I got up in the a.m. (I was able to run some errands in preparation for a gathering with a wonderful bunch of women I had not seen in quite some time), my body suddenly screamed a big, fat NO!!! Next thing I knew, I was in my sweats staring listlessly at the TV, not sure if it was morning or evening. I'm not sure which is worse -- feeling absolutely horrible for a few days, or having a prolonged period of general crumminess. I really think when they send you the acceptance paperwork for grad school, there should be some sort of standard Surgeon General's warning attached.

Well, anyway ... I spent today catching up on my wrapping and getting into the Christmas spirit. This vid also helped me cheer up. John Madden - involved in the first Christmas ... who knew?

While that was good, I do like Blame Society's take on the first Thanksgiving a bit better ...

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday and a safe New Year. Merry Christmas!

I am sorry to hear you have not been feeling well. Rest while you can and feel better soon.

The videos were priceless. Got a good laugh from both of them.
